What do we do now?

One famous Christian writer simply asked the question about our lives in Christ, "How then shall we live?"

That is a question we will ask ourselves throughout our walk on this earth. How can I live as a disciple of Jesus after He has called me to follow him?  Many books and ideas have been published to help.

One simple model of discipleship to be followed

can be found in the words

of  Micah 6:8 .

He has showed you, O man, what is good.

And what does the LORD require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy and

to walk humbly with your God.

Micah mentions three things.  With the image of a triangle in mind, we live UP - walking humbly with our God;  we live IN - loving mercy as we pursue close relationships with other Christians, and we live OUT - acting justly as we take the love of Jesus out into world. 
 

The simple challenge for us is how can we live IN, UP and OUT as disciples of our Lord each day.

He's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, AND don't take yourself too seriously - take GOD seriously.
